What it funds

Official synopsis as published by the agency, formatted for readability.

The Federal Justice Statistics Program (FJSP) is the national clearinghouse for federal criminal case data. It collects, analyzes, and disseminates federal justice statistics while providing technical assistance to federal agencies to improve data quality and availability (34 U.S.C. 10132 (c) (15)). The program receives data from six federal agencies, converts it to Standard Analysis File format, ensures quality and confidentiality standards are met, maintains dyad link files, updates the BJS online query tool, and prepares public-use data files and codebooks for research purposes.
