Energy Circuit Rider Pilot Grant Program

Program objective

The statutory purpose of this program is to “to support on-the-ground local Energy Circuit Riders who provide professional support to rural communities for the purpose of undertaking projects that save energy and reduce emissions.” This program also advances efforts to reduce energy costs for consumers.

Eligible applicants (program level)

Eligible applicants must be not-for-profit utilities, or other not-for-profit or non-taxable entities capable of serving rural areas with expertise in energy efficiency or emission reduction measures, laws, regulations, funding opportunities and policies. Eligible applicants include States, municipalities, Indian Tribes, cooperative extension services, institutions of higher education, cooperatives and cooperative organizations, regional planning commissions or other public entities serving two or more rural areas.
