Program objective
The goal of White-nose Syndrome National Response Implementation is to conserve and recover bat species affected by the fungal disease white-nose syndrome (WNS) through partnership driven management, research and communication. WNS Grants to States and Tribes support agencies and organizations for management planning and actions, coordination of research activities, and collaboration with partners around conservation of hibernating bat species. WNS Research for Conservation Grants, if offered, provide support for research projects that address critical information needs for managing WNS and species affected by it. Grants and cooperative agreements support development and implementation of management tools and strategies to lessen the impacts of white-nose syndrome on hibernating bat species and conduct monitoring efforts to assess status and trends of North American bat populations.
