The community investment committee (cic), which is composed of united way staff, board members, and community volunteers oversees the review process and allocation of funds to the partner agencies annually. the funding year runs from july 1st to june 30th. in march the partner agencies submit applications for funding requests. for each agency, the cic members review organizational documents including: the most recent audit; financial statements; program and organizational budgets; outcome measurement and improvement; and an excutive summary. the cic performs these reviews to ensure that the partner agencies are meeting identified community needs and are efficient and effective. based on the evaluation results, the cic makes a recommendation to the board of trustees for the allocation of funds to each agency beginning in july. as a follow-up to this process, the cic performs a mid-year review of all the partner agencies every januray.
