WIIN Lead Testing of Drinking Water Grant

This funding opportunity is only available to public school districts and child care centers participating in the WIIN Lead Testing of Drinking Water program.

Sites must have completed lead testing of drinking water through WIIN grant funds and received water test results with the presence of lead. Priority funding will be given to remediate drinking water outlets that tested over the state action level for lead in water.

Sites may apply for up to $1000 per outlet for up to 5 drinking water outlets (up to $5,000 total per application) for reimbursement of eligible remediation activities.

Lead remediation activities may include the removal, installation and/or replacement of faucets, water fountains, water filler stations, and point-of-use devices that meet EPA’s 3Ts program Taking Action specifications. Funds may be used to reimburse remediation supplies and services to replace or install remediation fixtures.

Funds may not be used for salaries or provider contracts alone. Supply costs must be included in connection with services rendered. Supplies and services are only for applicable remediation activities not for drinking water testing or re-testing.
