This program is open to eligible accredited school, college of veterinary medicine, or State agricultural experiment station that conducts animal health and disease research in accordance with NARETPA section 1433(c) (7 U.S.C. 3195). The annual NOFO includes a list of eligible institutions. Award recipients may subcontract to organizations not eligible to apply provided the subcontracts are necessary for the conduct of the project. Failure to meet an eligibility criterion by the time of application deadline may result in the application being excluded from consideration or, even though an application may have been reviewed, will preclude NIFA from making an award.
