Program objective

To support the development of innovative technologies that advance the state-of-the-art in neutron research. The specific objectives of this program are to create novel approaches to advance high resolution cold and thermal neutron scattering research; to develop new applications of neutron scattering to physics, chemistry, and macromolecular and materials research; nuclear engineering research on neutron sources and neutron delivery systems; and to support the development of innovative technologies relevant to neutron research, including, for example, high resolution two-dimensional neutron detectors, neutron monochromators, and neutron focusing and polarizing devices.
