The Defense Programs Academic Alliance (DPAA) develops and maintains the pipeline of specialized scientific and technical talent needed to meet the nuclear security enterprise’s workforce needs by supporting university research relevant to NNSA’s Defense Programs missions. Through its university-based consortia awards, the DPAA promotes sustained scientific exchange and collaboration among U.S. students, faculty, and researchers and the national security laboratories. It also promotes innovation in specific areas of long-term research relevant to nuclear stockpile science and production.
