The Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS) supports projects to advance dietary supplement research; identifies gaps and opportunities for dietary supplement research; develops, coordinates, and implements research initiatives with NIH Institutes and Centers and other partners; promotes multidisciplinary research and collaboration; advances research on the biological effects, composition, safety, efficacy, and population use of dietary supplements; strengthens methodological approaches, scientific best practices, and research capacity; supports innovative use of publicly available dietary supplement databases; and communicates research findings to improve the scientific understanding of dietary supplements and their role in health.
