How it makes and monitors grants (Schedule I, Part IV)
A majority of grant recipients are subawards of federal grants. Revenue is drawn from ASAP based on expenses received from sub-awardees and personnel. The payroll allocation of expenses derived from timesheets drives the funds we can draw to pay staff for completed work on the grants. Other expenses are from sub-awardees. Each Principal Investigator signs off on invoices which allows JIRN's finance team to enter the information into our accounting system. The senior grant accountant draws the funds related to each grant from biweekly reports which show amounts allowed to draw from each grant.
